National Ground Game is a Democratic political organization built to win elections and fight back against Republicans and right wing extremism. We do not play defense. We organize aggressively, respond fast, and push back hard against disinformation and bad faith attacks on Democrats and our values.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are hiring a Social Media Associate who lives on the political internet, understands how narratives spread, and knows how to shut down Republican talking points before they gain traction. You should be chronically online, fluent in meme culture, and comfortable creating confrontational, high impact content that performs.

This role is fast paced and results driven. If you wait for perfect, this is not the job for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clip long form videos into fast, viral short form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, X, and YouTube Shorts

• Create aggressive rapid response content that directly counters Republican messaging and right wing narratives

• Write sharp hooks, captions, and on screen text designed to stop the scroll

• Monitor political news, influencers, and trends and act immediately when opportunities arise

• Help shape National Ground Game’s digital voice and tone across platforms

• Track what is working and adjust content strategy in real time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong Democratic values and a clear desire to take the fight to Republicans online

• Deep familiarity with the online political ecosystem, including right wing media figures and platforms

• Experience clipping and editing short form video (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar tools)

• Strong instincts for virality, timing, and platform specific content

• Comfortable posting bold, confrontational content and standing behind it

• Ability to work independently, move quickly, and meet deadlines without hand holding

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working on political or advocacy social media accounts

• Track record of growing political accounts or driving high engagement

• Experience in rapid response or digital war room environments

COMPENSATION

• 1099 independent contractor position

• $20 per hour

• 20 to 25 hours per week

• Transfer to a full time position available for the right candidate
